New/2 2015: Access Control and Event Logging

SDS/2 2015 has expanded event logging to include more information than previous versions. Access Control has been added to limit the SDS/2 stations and functions each user has access to.

SDS/2 2015 provides tools to customize the annotations added to member, group member, and submaterial details through the use of Detailing Templates.

In this webinar, you will learn how to use the Detailing Templates provided by Design Data as well as how to make simple modifications to suit fabricator requirements and minimize the time required cleaning up details.

New/2 2015: Reference Models
March 3, 2015; 10:30-11:30 a.m. CST

SDS/2 2015 can import models from DWG and DGN files. Reference Model tools give users the ability to link and update reference models from 3D DWG, DGN, DWF and IFC files.

In this webinar, you will learn how to use the Reference Model tools to import and update from 3D model files.

Prerequisite
We require that you go through the “SDS/2 Detailing Basics & Step-By-Step Instructions” manual, “Assorted Tools for Working in SDS/2” manual, and “SDS/2 Connection Guide” before attending the course.

Materials Required
Design Data will supply each attendee with design drawings, course outlines, and other training information, all of which will be yours to keep. You will not need to bring anything else. At the end of the week you will also receive a CD-ROM containing your job and fabricator setup, 3D model, and details you will have created over the course of the week. The CD will be a great resource for continued learning.

Prerequisite
Those attending Continuing Education courses must have worked on the system at least eight months and have a good understanding of how SDS/2 functions. These courses will be taught in v7.3; therefore, an understanding of v7.3 operations is necessary.

The SDS/2 Users Group hosts an annual conference; the 2014 conference will be in Lincoln, Nebraska. This three-day event is primarily a learning opportunity. Activities include training on very specific topics determined by the Users Group, the unveiling of new enhancements, award presentations and other events. Both Design Data employees and SDS/2 customers present innovative SDS/2 techniques, encouraging users to employ the power of SDS/2 to its fullest. This conference also provides an opportunity for users to offer their input on new developments in SDS/2.
