The 2011 SDS/2 Users Group Conference will be held at The Cornhusker, A Marriott Hotel, in Lincoln, Nebraska, on September 22 and 23. It will once again be preceded by the annual Interoperabililty Network event, which will be held at the same location on September 21.

SDS/2 Users Group Conference

The conference agenda includes one-on-one breakout sessions on Modeling, Drawing Editor, CNC, parametrics, imports and exports. Design Data's support staff will also be available for one-on-one help with SDS/2 users.

On Thursday, Design Data will host an evening of entertainment — including dinner and drinks — at Bluestem Vineyard in Crete, beginning at 5:15 p.m. and continuing until the event ends at 11 p.m. Design Data will also be announcing this year's winner of the Connector's Club Award that evening and raffling off several gifts.

A Closer Look: SDS/2 BIM, Approval and Viewer

On August 17 at 11:00 a.m. CDT, Design Data will host a free webinar on SDS/2 BIM, SDS/2 Approval and SDS/2 Viewer. Designed to allow BIM coordinators to view all steel information on a project, SDS/2 BIM provides access to the 3D model in its native environment. SDS/2 Approval has two different applications: verify the model and check drawings before they are sent out for approval; or facilitate the approval process directly through the model. SDS/2 Viewer allows the user to view and navigate through the 3D model and all 2D drawings. Register to Attend

Design Data, SDS/2 Users Group Team up for SteelDay

Design Data, along with the SDS/2 Users Group, are joining forces to add a unique event to SteelDay 2011 on September 23. The goal of this event is to provide a venue showing how the steel industry is actively involved in developing new leaders, building better business practices and improving the technology commonly used today. Through this collaboration of Design Data and its customers, the keynote speech of the 2011 SDS/2 Users Group Conference will be open to all SteelDay attendees.

The speech — presented by a representative from United States Strategic Command, headquartered at Offutt Air Force Base near Omaha, Nebraska — will focus on topics of importance to steel professionals, including decision-making under pressure.

This event will help those within the industry — including architects, engineers and contractors — develop best practices for leading businesses during these difficult economic times. To sign up to attend, click here.
